Pleated Insect Screens
Pleated insect screens that fold neatly into the frame and leave the passage clear when not in use. Configurations for terraces, windows and glazed corners.
Pleated insect screens fit openings where access and ventilation matter every day. The folded mesh moves with the sliding profile and gathers neatly when not needed. On a terrace door, the screen can stop at the chosen position, while wider openings may use two screens meeting at the centre. For windows, a vertical version can be lowered from the top. Each arrangement provides protection from insects while respecting the way the doorway or window is used.
Pleated Insect Screens
The screen stays in the position you choose.
At a terrace door, a pleated insect screen does not always need to be fully extended. The pull bar can stop at any position, depending on how the opening is being used. When the screen is no longer needed, the pleated mesh folds compactly into the frame profile. This operation is useful in frequently used passageways, where insect protection must work alongside convenient access to the terrace or garden.
Separately tensioned cords support screen movement.
In a pleated screen system, the mesh is folded and guided so it can gather into a compact space. Separately tensioned cords help control movement, while the pull profile allows the screen to be positioned as needed. A low threshold is especially relevant for terrace doors where people pass frequently. Choosing the system requires consideration of the opening width, its geometry and the installation conditions.
Pleated insect screens can be adapted to different openings, from a regular window to a large sliding terrace door. A lateral screen can be moved only as far as needed, while two screens can meet at a glazed corner without an intermediate post. The configuration, colour and finish should be selected together with the dimensions and installation details to ensure the screen suits the particular opening.
